Unless you're getting into this as a "paying hobby" - a situation where you'd like to see some return on your effort but a lack thereof doesn't mean foreclosure, reposessions and starvation - then do the smart thing and resolve your host before you depend on it. You can build the spiffiest website in the world, and it will do you no good if people can't access it quickly and reliably.

 Next - Find Quality Traffic!
There are literally a zillion places you can get adult traffic from. My faves are listed at the left.

** Virtually every directory demands a reciprocal link, although some directory managers think it's fine to wait up to a month before sending you traffic - in the mean time, they're getting traffic from the recip link. Other directories have a "tiered" traffic policy; they buy premium quality traffic for use internally, and "junk" traffic to make it seem as if they're sending you a lot of hits... They are, but unfortunately most of them are non-English-speaking surfers from 3rd-world countries not noted for their online purchasing power.


 Then - Choose Your Partners Wisely!
As US government regulations become more pervasive (and make less sense) you will need to consider what company you're putting yourself into when you input your name, address and other personal information into somebody's affiliate signup form and press the button.

While the debate continues about what actually constitutes a "producer" or "secondary producer," you can go a long way in keeping your ass out of hot water if you promote organizations who are compliant. This means avoiding "barely legal" content, especially if it's offshore stuff which might not have the required records.
